Dupes Dedicated: Eyebrow Products

Anastasia Beverly Hills Vs. Kokie and Milani

Hello Beauties! I hope you all are having a wonderful day or night wherever you are! Today is another edition of my “Dupes Dedicated” series! We are talking about eyebrows and the cruelty-free products that I love to use everyday! BUT! We are going to go a step further and check out some affordable products that look exactly like their high end competitors! In doing so, we are going to see if these drugstore alternatives are dupes in formula and color! So with out further a do, let’s jump into it!

The brand that is most thought of when it comes to eyebrow products is Anastasia Beverly Hills! ABH has been the end all be all of eyebrow products for years now. However, new brands are starting to expand their own ranges on such products because brows are now a much larger trend then they have been in the past. So, when my dynamic duo: Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Definer ($23.00) and Tinted Brow Gel ($22.00) ran out, I decided it was time to search for some other products that could give me the same result– but for a much cheaper price tag!

Kokie Cosmetics High Brow Angled Eyebrow Pencil $10.00

I enjoy using an angled brow pencil to fill in my eyebrows, because my brows are naturally pretty thick. This just helps speed up my morning routine by covering the area of my brows quicker. When I was searching at the drugstore for an eyebrow product to fill the spot of my Brow Definer, I stumbled upon the Kokie Cosmetics High Brow Angled Eyebrow Pencil! It has the same triangle/anglular shape as my Anastasia Beverly Hills one– but for half the price! I purchased the shade brunette and have been testing it out ever since! My thoughts? This product has pros and cons.

The Pros:

  1. Angular Shape
  2. Waxy
  3. Grips Brow Powder
  4. Great Shaped Spoolie
  5. Longwearing

The Cons:

  1. Stiff
  2. Limited Shade Range (4 Shades)
  3. Difficult to Find

Kokie’s eyebrow pencil definitely gets the job done! The shade range of this eyebrow pencil is horrid, and I think it could be difficult to find as it is only sold in store at Walmart stores. However, I believe that I would rather purchase this product over its high end competitor because in the end I get the same exact result!

Milani Easybrow Fiber Gel $7.00

Each and everyday after filling in my eyebrows, I use a tinted gel to help hold them in place. In doing so, I like to use a lighter tint as it will give my brow hairs highlights to keep them natural looking. I generally use the Anastasia Beverly Hills Tinted Brow Gel in brunette and when I saw that Milani had a color almost identical (soft brown)– I knew I had to test it out! I decided to test it out and see if it was in fact a dupe! My thoughts? This is not a dupe. And here is why…

  1. Color
  2. Holding Power

  1. Highlighting Affect
  2. Spoolie
  3. Amount of Product

Now, the color and longevity of each of these products is pretty much identical– which is great! However, the Milani product does not give my brows a highlighted affect what so ever! Also, this product has a very small and short spoolie, which for my long, thick eyebrow hairs is not ideal. Lastly, the amount of the product is so much smaller than the ABH one! Yes, you are saving a lot of money and can afford to repurchase more often, but I truly feel like it is worth it to spend your money on the high end version.

Take away: Save your money on the brow definer and purchase the Kokie version! However, splurge and purchase yourself a nice brow gel!
